Re: VMProtect still safe?
Hello
That tutorial is hardly an attack on VMProtect. Firstly its old and outdated and secondly are you really going to simply pack the software with VMProtect without any markers? The most powerful feature of VMProtect is its virtualization technology and there are no generic attacks for it and I don't think there ever will be. If you virtualize your serial registration routine along with code where it is used along with some other code (so that you can't just jump over it) unpacking you application will be useless as the cracker will still have to reverse engineer the virtual machine to crack your software. This can take weeks and if you use multiple virtual machines even longer. For extra protection use the script here in this forum it will make reversing even harder.
It's really how you use VMProtect that matters. If you use it properly your going to stop most crackers even experienced ones.
