Questions regaurding the security of VMProtect

So, I've been looking around for a good packer to obfuscate my code further. I've seen VMProtect in action, and I think it's nice. But here's my problem.
Everyone who is reading this and I very well know there are cracked versions of VMProtect floating around. I understand they are earlier versions and very out-dated, but I also understand that a lot of people have gotten around VMProtect and can unpack programs packed with VMProtect..
So my questions are;
1.) If I buy VMProtect, and of course download the latest version, what are the chances someone will be able to unpack and decompile my files if I use maximum security features?
2.) What do you guys at vmpsoft actually do when you find out someone has found a way to decompile programs packed with your software?
3.) If VMProtect is good, how can people crack VMProtect itself? Do you guys pack VMProtect with VMProtect? (I'm sure you do your own obfuscation prior to packing if you do, but I'm not entirely sure if packing a program with itself would even work. And yet, people still crack it..)
4.) I understand that most anti-virus' detect programs packed with VMProtect as a virus, would the newest and latest version of VMProtect make my files generate false positives with anti-virus'? (Note: I said false positives)
I hope my questions can be answered as I am seriously considering purchasing VMProtect.
