HardwareID seems too picky

Post by galica »

Hi,

I use the hardware id feature, and it works most of the time. But it appears to be very picky, as I have an exemple below where a user installed VMWare on his machine, that added a new net device, and that simple addition make VMProtect hardware check fail:

HardwareID before:
CPU 976A4990
Host C6A6935C
HardDrive D2478A00
Ethernet EF31CDFC
Ethernet CBCECDD0

Hardware ID After
CPU 976A4990
Host C6A6935C
HardDrive D2478A00
Ethernet F23C06B0
Ethernet EF31CDFC
Ethernet CBCECDD0

That seems like a bug, because obviously it's the same machine in both case.

What hardware check do you mean? Both HWIDs are equal for VMProtect.

there is a bug in HWID in last 3.5 b1213

3.4 seems ok with case above.

like case up hwid is same but extra MAC change by add + data

and it fails for unknown reasons in 3.5 b1213
